Embracing resilience in a journey looking for a job in my industry
Resigning from my previous employment was a decision that didn’t come lightly. I had my reasons, fair or not, but it still felt like stepping into the unknown. As someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, I knew the risks, but I also knew the potential rewards waiting on the other side of fear.
The life of an entrepreneur is a rollercoaster ride, filled with ups and downs, twists and turns. It demands patience, courage, and persistence. It’s about daring to dream big and having the resilience to weather the storms that inevitably come your way.
Along this journey, I’ve lived through a mosaic of experiences, perhaps because I always believed I had choices laid out before me, waiting to be selected at each crossroads. But this time, that sense of choice was absent. Maybe it’s age, maybe it’s exhaustion, maybe it’s the silence of an empty agenda or the weight of unrealised results. Or perhaps God shields certain paths until the right one is ready to meet me.
What cut the deepest, however, was being overlooked by people who knew my track record and the value I brought, people fully aware that this niche profession demands rare skills and hard-earned experience. Those very qualities have shaped not only my career but also the way I navigate moments of uncertainty and professional challenge.

This time, from meeting fascinating individuals to facing challenges that tested my resolve, confronting fake promises, each moment has been a lesson in growth. I’ve had the privilege of seeing the world from different perspectives, whether as an employer, an investor, or someone standing on the opposite end of the spectrum, looking down on my weaknesses or room for professional self-development.
But with growth comes reflection, and I’ve come to realize the importance of living in the present. Too often, I found myself either dwelling on the past or fixating on the future, missing out on the precious moments unfolding right before me. It’s a balancing act, learning to appreciate the journey while still striving for greater heights.

Leaving behind the familiar confines of my previous employment was not without its challenges. I encountered ignorance, rejection, and insincerity along the way. But through it all, I remained steadfast in my belief that there was light at the end of the tunnel.
And now, as I emerge from the storm, I feel a sense of peace washing over me. The chaos has subsided, and I find myself stronger and more resilient than ever before. It’s as if a tsunami of energy is coursing through my veins, propelling me forward with renewed purpose and determination.
As I rebuild, or reclaim, my place in the industry I live and work in, with passion, I’m struck by the realization of my own tendency to stray from the present moment. My obvious sin has been my tendency to dwell on the future or yearn for the past, neglecting the richness of the present. I’ve come to understand that feeling like a queen without a kingdom is merely a poetic way of acknowledging a deeper nostalgia, the longing for the moments shared with colleagues, friends, and every person who crossed my path each day. And perhaps the most grounding step forward is learning to honour those moments as they unfold, rather than only once they’ve passed.

Life’s short. It reminds me not to dwell on the past or obsess over the future. Instead, I’ve learned to live in the moment, soaking up every experience and seizing hold of every opportunity that comes my way.
So cheers to the journey ahead, filled with endless possibilities and infinite potential.

I may have weathered the storm, but I’m ready to embrace whatever lies on the horizon.
And I do not doubt that, as usual, together with people around me, we’ll all enjoy the ride ensemble, basking in the glow of our collective resilience and strength. After all, knowledge and feelings are to be shared.
