Which Ionian island has mountains, waterfalls & blue-flagged beaches?
Lefkada, the Caribbean of Greece
Lefkada is a Greek island located at the Ionian Islands, on the west coast of Greece, between Corfu and Kefalonia, with views across to Skorpios.

Skorpios, formerly owned by tycoon Aristotle Onassis in the past, is currently by entrepreneur Rybolovlev, who organizes every summer the notorious parties performed with tandem yacht charters.
Lefkada is well known for the most awarded blue-flag beaches in turquoise safe waters.
Sail to Meganisi and other small islands before you explore the mainland with fertile valleys and lagoons, wetlands, to bird species. Sail to the islets Kalamos, Kastos, Skorpios, Skorpidi, Madouri, Sparta, Thilia, Kytro, and other smaller ones.
The western side is rugged with many extensive sandy beaches. It also has narrow plateaus, fertile valleys and gorges with lush vegetation and has a remarkable flora, including olives, cypresses, a variety of pines, a special variety of oak, aromatic herbs and rare flowers.
If you have time sail to Vlychos, Sivota, Rouda, Vasiliki, Agios Nikitas, Agios Yiannis, Porto Katsiki, Kathisma, Kalamitsi beaches, Kavalikefta, Megali Petra and Avali beach. The modern marina will offer you a nice coastal life ashore.
The western side is rugged with many extensive sandy beaches. It’s been some years ago cruising the Ionian sea, but I always think of Lefkada as Heaven on earth. You wish to know more?
