Free range fed hens
Adoring yellow yolks? Some articles mention the yolk color as orange for a sign of hens good nutrition, well, I love the yellow yolks and buy Pafilida (Pafylida) Farm eggs from AB Vasilopoulos in Athens. They are delicious and beautiful in a modern packaging recyclable box.
The setting up of Pafilida Farm started in January 2014 completely experimental by the Owner Thodoris Politis, who says ‘What we had back then was just 100 hens, but very enthusiastic and longing’, to finally triple turnover in five years!
Farm Owner says his philosophy and attitude at the same time was to create a standard egg production unit, against the logic of mass production and easy profit, with full respect for the environment and the animals host on own farm. Vision sealed the entire production line. From the care and feeding of the farm animals to the packaging, brochures and distribution centers.
The eggs come from free-range hens that circulate freely in own estate, feed exclusively on natural cereals and clover, and live in large, straw-broiled hens. Eggs are harvested daily, one by one, and packaged in our farm. Their difference lies in their superior taste, their denser texture, their long and deep yellow crocuses. Their packaging made from recycled and at the same time recyclable material (kraft paper) serves the personal perception of improving our ecological footprint.
For the needs of the company different packages were created for each egg size (M / L / XL) using recyclable materials and strong typography for easy differentiation. The packaging has been designed to be stored and transported in a flat format, making it easy for the customer to configure.
The emphasis of farming methods that respect the welfare of egg-laying hens seems to be at the heart of the business philosophy, which is reflected in the final product. At a time when the debate on conditions under which livestock feed is being produced, the Owner of Chios Pafylida Farm business puts forward his own view of ‘free-range hens’, fed freely on own estate exclusively on natural cereals and clover.
