Ascot e-bike Italian finesse and technology!
It was a nice summer when our boss got a dozen of e-bikes on board. Don’t ask me where we stored them. At that time I had the privilege to doing a market research and comparison in models and their specs, speed, autonomy and options in tires if for urban operation or the beach. I will not give you the final choices or the ones we though of ideal in terms of speed on the road.
I will only share a vintage flair, nostalgia for the past with Italian finesse and modern technology awarded in time
This is Ascot e-bike from Italjet. As you know, Italjet, in Bologna, Italy, was established in 1959, by the well-known rider Leopoldo Tartarini, trading motor vehicles.
Leopoldo Tartarini, was the designer of the most iconic Ducatis ever made, including the 1971 750 Sport, the green-frame 750SS street version of Paul Smart’s 1972 Imola 200-winning factory racer, the 350cc and 500cc parallel twins (which were built in his Italjet factory) and the 900cc Darmah V-twins.
Italjet, developed more than 150 different imaginatively designed motorcycle and scooter models, most created by Tartarini himself.
Passion, style, innovation, attention to detail and mechanical refinement since that time feature the artistry of Italjet.
Those who see Italjet crafts parading against the background of an old square or on a white road immersed in the Italian landscape, it makes their heart skip a beat and, for a moment, they do not believe their eyes. As of now more than 150 different innovative models have been produced.
Awards to remember, the victory in the 1953 Milano-Taranto race, the 1957-58 world tour (five continents, 42 countries in 13 months), the three world records with the Cyclecar in Monza in 1969. In 80’s, the design sector of the NEW YORK MUSEUM of MODERN, the prestigious MOMA, exhibited Pack 2 in the permanent collection. It is the only two-wheeled motor vehicle housed in the museum.
In 1998, the Guggenheim museum in New York chooses the Formula 50, liquid-cooled and already named scooter of the year four times, twice in Italy and once each in Germany and in Spain. In 2000, Velocifero, the scooter that perfectly combines the vintage style of the 60’s with modern technology was awarded as wel.
From the Ascot models, Sport, Adventure and Vyrus Series, the Ascot Adventure, catches your eye.
Handcrafted leather and canvas components with Italian craftsmanship, brushed aluminium mudguards, created to celebrate the adventure around the world of the founder of Italjet during the 50’s, further customized with accessories optionally, in same vintage style.
And then it is the Ascot Classic to fascinate you for an urban vintage experience.
Ascot Classic electric bike by Italjet brings Italian finesse, high aesthetics design, handcrafted by refined materials and modern engineering technology.
The Ascot Classic I guess is a jewel, a masterpiece on its own. With autonomy of 5 hours in a speed of 25km/h (look this is a vintage urban beauty, don’t ask for more), is stunning in her brushed aluminium frame, with a battery holder bag made by hand from Italian leather and the front fork with its exclusive “springer” design in biconical springs, to complete its unique and exclusive design.
Italjet correctly states: The dream we offer is, above all else, a dream of style. With an Italian E-bike you are neither a cyclist nor a lover of clean energy, you are a new sort of biker, driving a vehicle with a strong, solid character, made of durable materials assembled by the skilled hands of Italian craftsmen.
Technology is merely the means that allows you to run and lets you go where you want. We are calling upon all those who want to live a dream.
Ascot Classic, covered in leather, with twilight sensor to switch the lights on and off automatically and a rear brake light which, when activated during braking, ensures greater safety. Even its wide-section tires ensure optimal grip in every situation.
Leather bag crafted by Tuscan tannery and skilfully hand-stitched by master Umbrian craftsmen. The attention to detail and the love for beautiful things make this bag a unique and inimitable item. The logo is located on embossed aluminium foil, riveted on the bag. The removable lithium ion battery is housed in the internal duo. The key block blocks the battery from being removed.
The NuVinci gearbox, American excellence in the world of bicycles, equipped with spheres inside it, allows the rider to have infinite gear methods. The saddle, created by Brooks exclusively for Italjet, is equipped with five springs that ensure maximum comfort. The aluminium handlebar is locked by forged aluminium and gold anodised front panel. The clock mounted on the handlebar stand with gold frame isolated on a white background. Classic design with quartz movement.
