10 years challenge Ferrari+Aicon yachts

A Taste of Sicily by Yacht & Ferrari Project by Aironblue and Red Travel.

Ten years ago, whilst representing Italian shipyard Aicon Yachts in Kiriacoulis Group, I had the honor and pleasure to enjoy time in Sicily through invitation by Aironblue.

This was a project by the Aicon Yachts charter company, Aironblue in collaboration with Red Travel, entitled A Taste of Sicily by Yacht & Ferrari.

It had been a magnificent luxury tour with yachts in all sizes of the production line from the shipyard and GranTurismo of the unique Ferraris to discover the history, landscape beauty, food and wine in castles and vineyards, beauty of the island.

I can still remember the beauty of the hotel overlooking the bay of Taormina.

Pity my camera was stolen at the airport and when I came back to Greece I never surpassed the shock that lost all these beautiful images I took my self.

I still taste the lemon sorbet in the square of Taormina and recall the view from the brilliant gardens of the town. The endless stroll in the theater and the funicular ride from the town to the beach hotel. 

I will try though through photographs of Red Travel and friends to reconstruct only a small piece and give you a glimpse, an idea of how it could have been. Yet some photos are from Tuscany don’t panic.

Before the recession of the time, Aicon Yachts had been a competitive shipyard. In great aesthetics to remind of Azimut line, they offered one more cabin in 64ft to become competitive to Ferretti, Azimut, and Fairline at that time. Sales were going smoothly in Greece before the recession.

The experience was fantastic at that time and every small detail by Georgia Ferrara managing the charter company Airon Blue –featuring Aicon Yachts, had arranged for us, guests and dealers, to live an experience of priceless seduction, under the watchful care of an assistant ready to give any help. 

With an escort driver, we could driver together with the Ferraris optionally.  

I’ve accepted the 10-year challenge by promoting this beautiful incentive and think of how much more we need, events  like this, within the luxury industry.
